Draft Day is here! 32 young prospects will have their lifelong dreams fulfilled. Here is my one and only 2018 first-round mock draft. By the time you read this, I will already want to change a pick or two, and especially by the start of the draft, but, alas, it’s time to rock and roll.
It took trial and error, but I did manage to predict 4 quarterbacks being selected in the first 5 picks. I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if “only” three or possibly less end up going in the top 10. I have things getting very interesting within the lottery, but that’s hardly a lock to be the case. There are a handful of trades, and frankly, I believe one or two more are possible. There is no shortage of teams looking to move down, I’m just not sure how many give real value to move up, especially outside of the top 10. Teams such as the Bears, Broncos, and Colts are willing to move down so several trades could occur inside the top 10. Since this is a quarterback-heavy draft, teams selecting at 6-10, are picking from players who would normally go Top 10. The 49ers have a great chance to get some defensive depth, the Colts most likely will pick the best player available the Bears will either go after the best linebacker in the draft Roquan Smith, or the best linemen in the draft Quenton Nelson. All in all, this draft will be a great one!
